Tuesday
I downloaded these two pics before I moved the computer from old house to new. I still don't know WHERE my USB cord is but i'm looking. It's driving me nuts.
Here is my BirdGirl statue in front of the house. Isn't that ivy pretty? If any of you are familiar with John Berendt's book/movie "Midnight In The Garden Of Good and Evil" this statue is featured on the cover of the book. She also guards the entrance to Bonaventure Cemetary in Savannah, GA. I lubs me some Savannah and I have even met the Lady Chablis who was in the movie. She is a HOOT. Anyway Stacy bought me
this statue as a souvenier and I heart her. She looks "at home" here doesn't she?
OK Southern Fried Girl had to rain on my parade (kidding!) and pointed out this is not exactly like the statue on the front of the book. SHE has the exact statue :) Which is a greenish/jade color and just looks a bit different. Mine is probably a bootleg version of the birdgirl. Who knew?

This is my entrance stone in front of my door. Can you tell it's a sunburst/palm tree? Stacy has tripped over this so many times but I think he FINALLY remembers it is there. Uh just kinda ignore the fact that somebody needs to wash off the front stoop Mmmkay? Thank Ya!
Well i'm off to get some breakfast (please let them have some good mini muffins! if not biscuit swirls) and I have an 8:00am meeting then i'll get down to the business of visiting your blogs!

Statue is kinda cute. ;)

LOVE the statue and the mat. My ex mother in law lived in Savannah for a couple years. I read the book and did all the touristy stuff. I would love to meet Lady Chablis. Never made it to the cemetary though. Hope you have a great day. :)

Love the stone, it's very pretty!

Ooh I like your pictures!

You know this is weird, but I have spent my entire morning looking for my USB cord too - isn't that mad? We had like 3 or 4 and now I can't even find one.

Grrr.

The statue does look at home! I think she's tired of holding those bowls up though.

It brings pleasure to decorate our gardens and homes with the things that have meaning to us.
Enjoy your statue and the front-door mat, and all the other lovely things that make your place 'home sweet home' !

Hope you have a wonderful Tuesday, Patti !

What a beautiful setting for the statue, I love me some ivy! That mat is great! Glad you are settling into the new home...why is it that the USB cord is always the one thing that turns up missing?

I loved that book. The movie was so-so even though it had Kevin Spacey in it. Now I'm gonna have to go dig out the book and see the statue and compare.

Love the statue. I like putting flowers and things in my garden. I can't wait til it gets warm enough that I can work out in the yard. I have never been to Savannah but it is on my list of things to do before I die.

I LOVE the entrance stone. I love palm trees.

Cool mat.

Nice pics. I can't wait for gardening time!
