We had a wonderful storm yesterday evening. It started getting dark about 4:30 and I could tell one was brewing. The wind picked up, the temp dropped (Thank God). Usually neither Madison nor Reilly pay much attention when we have a storm. Not this time. I had both of them in my lap shivering and Madison kept her head buried in my shoulder. The wind blew, the house shook, rain pounded on the roof and the lights went out. I patted Maddie's back and stroked Reilly's tiny body to reassure them and I think it worked. All in all it was a rather cozy time with the two I love the best.
Aaaawwww, isn't it awesome to be able to be the big protector? I hope you have a great weekend.
I love crazy summer storms. Unless they're hurricanes or something.
Sounds like a sweet moment.
All of our recent storms have been lame - sometimes enough to knock out the power and cable, but never enough to break the heat wave or properly clean the air.
I miss the storms in the south so much. We almost never have thunder or lightning in Portland. But I guess the good news is that we rarely have any humidity either.

ooh I love storms like that :)
I hate storms, but always feel better when I am at home with Laura during them. As a child I hated thunderstorms and my MOm always tried to help me get over my fear. One time we went out on our covered deck and I sat on her lap and we just looked at the lightening. I think I was 8 or 9. That is one of my best memories of me and my MOm.
we got the clouds and a little rain but nothing major...our mondo dachshund is scared of the storms too...glad you enjoyed the snuggly time :)
Storms are awesome. I love watching them roll in. Except when I'm outside, and my hair starts standing straight up while the lightning searches for a nice place to strike....
Yeah, that happened, but I didn't get hit.
A good post! My late Uncle always told me it was "The Lord"! Scared me a bit. But today, I sleep comfortable through them under a comforter!
We need a big rainstorm up here in Chicago burbs...we need the rain so bad...but also to wash away all the dirt, dust and ashes (people up here burn their leaves/branches whenever the hell they want and it's always ashy and smoky!! *Cough Cough*)
Babies are so darn cute and cuddly :-) Maddies pic is so cute!
Storm? What's that? Never heard of it. :)
Love storms. Living here in the desert does have some perks.... lots of thunder and lightning storms this time of year. I dig it.
I'd never thought that a storm could be cozy til I read this.
Awww, that does sound cozy! I do love a good storm....when I am indoors, and hopefully out of harm's way!
Nothing like a good storm to set an atmospher of fear and comfort at the same time.
I love a good storm.
