As anybody who knows me, knows. I LURVES me some Brett Favre. Always have. Always will.Do I think he has been wishy~washy in the past few years regarding his return. Um, yes.
Who knows what any of us would do in that position? He's had a lot of pressure on him and this year I think the front office (that would include Ted Thompson aka The Bastard) put alot of pressure on him to make up his mind quickly and he rashly chose retirement.
I can understand him not wanting him to go back to the Packers in any other role but as starting QB. Aaron Rogers is young, he will have his day. Let the big man lead em' just one more year.
However I would not be averse to them releasing him........ to the Carolina Panthers. That is.
**** Be warned I do not want to hear any negative comments re: Brett. I just don't.
Right or wrong, I blindly support him (just like I always have Stacy in racing). The man just does no wrong in my eyes. He IS my next-ex-husband after all............ *grin*

Laurie- Oh thank you, I could live with him being a Panther - oh yes I could. I'm only 1 1/2 hours from Charlotte. After all his old buddy Reggie White (RIP) played for Carolina after he "retired".

Not to worry, Patti. I support Stacy in racing too!:D Seriously, Patti I have only caught glimpses of this story. NASA's Frank Borman put it this way. "You can't have one foot in the boat and one on the shore. So, I made a decision and when I left NASA, I left for good". That's how I look at things. But I wish Brett the best!

I was reading some of your other posts that I have missed and see that you are originally from Williamsport, PA! I am originally from PA, also, just about 100 miles north of there! Port Allegany off Route 6 is where I spent a little over 16 years of my married life. I was raised just 3 miles below Austin in a little town called Costello in Potter County, hunting and fishing country! Ever heard of any of these places? Small world!!!
I'll read more tonight as I work from home, and I am trying to get a few things finished up before I leave to pick Diane up for a little shopping this afternoon and then on to Starbucks!

I know you are a HUGE Brett fan and so am I as a football fan.
I will say though that he shouldn;t have retired if he wasn;t up to it in his head and heart.
If he had been pressured to leave then he should have said cut me loose you ungrateful !@#$ and to go to the Paathners and make Patti happy but he didn't.
Now it looks like he is abandoning his old team and friends by asking to be released from his contractoral obligations.
I don't think all of this does anything to diminish his charactor which I believe is stellar and his heart undeniablly in the game.
He just made one mistake and that's being forced out before his time.
I wouldn't mind seeing him play some more and this from a Broncos fan.
