Winter Blahs
All the Christmas decor is gone.... look at Spooky in the middle she always has to be in the thick of things. Crazy cat! You can click on the pics to make them bigger I don't know why they came out so small.

Do you think us South Carolinians are state proud? I think we have the prettiest state flag and I have it on alot of stuff (as you can see).Alot of people think it is a palmetto tree and moon but it's a crescent sword reminiscent of the weapons used in the revolutionary war to defend our fair state. There were numerous revolutionary war battles fought here in SC (Battle of Cowpens comes to mind) so that is your history lesson for today boys and girls :)

Stacy got out the wicker furniture we got an AWESOME end of season deal on ($500 set for $75 - yep). Four chairs and a table including the thick cushions.

Stacy finally put up my stained glass window that I bought myself for my birthday. I am going to try my hand at painting these windows if I can get some old windows. I put out a post on Freecycle.com (thanks Tony!)

So bargain shopping runs in the family?

That's a cool idea...painting on old window panes.

I am coveting that window - just so you know....

I like the window pane. Very cool.

I learned my SC history today, I thought it was a palmetto & moon all this time.

I LOVE wicker! The PK and I are currently looking for a set of furniture for our patio and, if it wouldn't be so humid here most of the time, I would DEFINITELY do the wicker thing!

Love the wicker set and the window pane. I love palm trees. And thanks for the history lesson. I always thought it was a moon too!!!

Man- Hey honey GREAT to see you! Thanks! Hope you are having a good New Year so far.

Shell- He can't touch me in the bargain hunting I found the furniture too. Hah. I love the windows.

Cheeky-Wouldn't a flamingo one be cool too?

Katie- Even I am guilty of calling it palmetto and moon - it's just easier but I did know the true story and now you do too! :)

Stacy PQ- This is coated wicker not the easily-disintergrating kind usually found. Had that, it fell apart!

Daisy- You're so welcome. It does look like a moon and I like to think it's a moon too... hehe...

My wife and I got a wicker patio set last summer. I didn't want to get it, but we made a deal--she got the wicker set and I got a new mower.

Looking at these pictures makes me realize how much I miss sitting out on my patio enjoying the new wicker furniture. Oh well, only 5 more months of winter to go here in Michigan.

I love your state flag! It is pretty cool.

And whoa! $75!? That was a great deal. Love it!

Mike- Well i won't mention that it was in the 70's here yesterday then. Nope I won't.

Jenie- Thanks I do too. :)

That window pane is great! And if the wicker disappears from your porch, don't come to NM looking for it. I *promise* it won't be here!! ;-)

I have to argue one thing, though ... The New Mexico flag lifts my heart and speaks of the enchantment that is NM. It is simple and beautiful. I won't say "more beautiful" because you'll beat me up, but ...

OK, I'm done.

LOVE your new chairs....wherever did you find them?

Lynilu- No I won't beat you up! State pride is a wonderful thing! Isn't NM the "land of enchantment" ? I love that~

tommie- Believe it or not, Kmart!

You have such a comfortable looking porch. Like the window pane.

Looking at it, I was reminded, oh yeah, that's what the world looks like without snow. Dang I miss that. And I was just happy to take out my trash in 40+ degrees.

Foster Communications- Thank you. yep it's in the 70's today. I want to see some snow though! *sniffle*

WOW what a deal on the beautiful furniture. And, I love the stained glass - it's great! Hope you are having a great day - see ya. Kellan

Where did you find that bargain?!
I really like wicker outside.

Spooky. Cute name for a cat. Black
one at that.

Fly that flag proud! It really is
a pretty one.

Love to all!

I love the cushions on your new wicker furniture, Patti ! PRETTY ! Makes me want to sit there with Spooky and people watch...

Thanks for the history lesson - I've forgotten it already. Moon and palmetto tree it is!

That stained glass is gorgeous!
I found your site thru Cheryl...
I'll be back. I enjoyed reading your blog...

Yes, Patti, it is,and you need to go check my post about it!!

I've always loved the SC state flag too...maybe if I end up back down there I can get one of those windows!

I can't believe you got all that furniture for $75. I am very impressed. WOW!

I have always loved the SC state flag. In fact, I've always loved the state. I had an aunt and uncle who lived in Summerville for a while and we would come visit them there and head into Charleston which was just down the road.

LOVE your deals!!! So pretty!

And, I finally got all my ornaments off the trees and all the assorted decorations put up, but now they're just all sitting in boxes and waiting to be stored. I don't think it ever ends!!
