Tiny but Mighty

My niece who lives next door is somewhat of a Dr. Doolittle.
She has three large dogs, two rabbits and now she just got, from God knows where, a baby Guinea.
He is a little guy, probably the size of a tennis ball on a good day. To me, he looks like a tiny quail.
Anyway myself,Madison & Reilly went over there yesterday on the screened in front porch where the quinea currently resides.
Reilly is my darling 5 lb Yorkipoo. He thinks he's a guard dog but the cats are twice his size, poor little guy.
He noticed the guinea and made his way over to it. The tiny bird stood there, looking him dead in the face.
As Reilly leaned toward it the bird pecked him a quick peck on the nose. Reilly jumped back. The look on his face said "What the hell is this and what did it do to me?".
He eased forward again and the guinea pecked him again. Reilly backpedalled toward me. Then the guinea sensed that he had the upper hand and it was ON.
He ran poor Reilly all over that porch and we were just screaming with laughter. Maybe i'll get a chance to video it. For once Reilly finds something that is smaller than him and it turns out to be feisty. It's tough being small I guess.
****UPDATE to answer Sandra's question of what does she plan to do with the guinea whenit's grown, she plans to keep it and let it run in the yard and roost in trees. They eat all kinds of bugs.

heehee, too funny! I am the Aunt of a 11 lb. miniature schnauzer so I can understand the scenario completely!!

Damn. That's classic. Movie! Movie! Movie! A Yorkipoo! Those are super cute. Almost as cute as maltipoos...

;)

Referenced you on my blog and just realized your name didnt' show up - before you commented - so now you have to go peek again...hehe

ROFL!! I bet that was quite the sight!! That poor puppy!

I had 2 Jack Russells once..they thought they were the biggest baddest things out there. One night, Dottie, the smaller JRTerrier was met by a huge possum in our back yard, it chased her all the way back down the drive, into the house, tail tucked and all. I never laughed so hard in my life--Who's bad now? lol

So what does your niece plan to do with the Guinea when it's full-grown?

The guinea scared Reilly's eyes to green?

LOLOL...the smaller the dog the mightier they think they are...except in the face of baby birds, they're scarey!

That is a classic story - you need to video it

LOL!

Cool - your dog has laser eyes. :p

What would be laugh about without critters and kids!

That Yorkie is so cute.

That is my problem. If the hubbs would let me, I'd have a house full of animals.

LOL
I csan just vision a small bird chasing a dog. I have seen a rooster chase dogs before and I dont blame him for running he migh have an eye poked out.
I have had all sorts on pet but now stick to cats after I had to get my arm back from an alligator someone gave me.
I got the arm back and the gator well we won't be talking about him again

My ex MIL used to keep Guineas....she lived in the woods and they were wonderful at keeping ticks and things away!

Reilly is terribly cute, and so is the little guinea!
