Remember: S.H.I.T. !
As I may have mentioned before everyone here now has cubicles. With high walls, but cubicles, nonetheless.
There is a lady who sits next to me. She's nice, she's very nice but it is, well, a challenge sitting next to her.
She has a serious hearing impairment (wears double hearing aids) and she talks with that toneless nasally voice that some hearing impaired people use. Sometimes it really is annoying. I KNOW she can't help it but it's nails on a blackboard some days especially because she's also so LOUD.
She also has serious allergies and sneezes LOUDLY all day long. And she blows her nose LOUDLY ~honk~honk~ all day long.
She brings snacks and food and huddles in her chair nibbling on them. Sometimes I just want to say "_______ it's okay, no one is going to take your food from you".
It's official - I think I work with this ....

*** it's also official i'm going straight to HELL for making fun of a hearing disabled person :(

Yipppeee! I'm finally #1....lol
I TOTALLY understand hun.Your a sweetheart, and we KNOW your not making fun of her, silly.Your just calling it like you see it.This reminds me when I worked another job once, and we also had cubicles....the lady beside me was soooo freakin loud,I couldn't even hear the people I was talking to on the phone, and when I tried to mention it to her to like maybe tone it down, she went nutty on me...UuuGH!
And then two, recently meeting that guy from MySpace shocked the ----- out of me when I realized he was mentally challenged...so I'm like you Patti....I'm not making fun of him either...just calling it like I see it.
Is there any way you can move cubicles? Or maybe wear ear plugs? Nahhh,I guess ear plugs wouldn't work right?lol
Have a great day....at least TRY and have a good un'...lol

I am not a fan of the cube farm.

I agree with Tammy but I will stand 10 feet away from you just incase a lightning bolt hits you. LOL

Morning, Patti! I agree with our friend, Tammi. You're not making fun as much as you are telling it like it is. I have hearing-impaired friends who do not do this and let's face it, it's irritating. lol to you and I hope you can get through to her or be moved to another cubicle. :D

I'm pretty sure that karma will insure you waking tomorrow with a hare lip and a craving to munch on carrots all day. You should be more careful, Patti!

Cubicles are awful. I never had to work in one, but visiting places where they were in use taught me that I wouldn't do well there. I always felt like a mouse in a maze when I went to talk to people in them.

What did you have before the cubicles, wide open? That's more aesthetically pleasing, but the noise can be awful. For a while I shared spaces (3-5 people in a large office space, 20x20 or so) like that, but we were rarely all present at the same time, so it was rarely a problem.

Well, you've made me glad that I've never had the experience of working in a cubicle. I always wondered what it would be like.....

That's an adorable squirrel photo. I really like squirrels- real ones, not the human imitations.

Hugs,
Betty

Real squirrels are the enemy. Do not tust them. Perhaps this woman of whom you speak is in league with the little rodents. Seriously you give a rat a bushy tail and teach it to climb a tree and suddenly its cute? Watch for mushrooms hidden around the room.

I'm with "get off my lawn" They are rodents. Why don't they make squrrel traps? They make rat traps. Anywho. I can feel your pain. Have you thought of tainted peanuts? Maybe exlax brownies?

Hilarious. Bring her some acorns!

What's funny is that I can
understand what a hearing impaired
person is saying better than a
hearing unimpaired person...

Hope you get some peace soon :)

HUGS!!!!!!!!!!

Laurie

ya know sis i wear aids cause i was born with hearing troubles cause of being a primey along with all the other troubles ive had but that lady could have went to a speech class and she wouldnt be so loud least it worked for me. but what u said was funny as shit!!! its ok to make fun cause you know damn well someone is making fun of us. besides i know your job and it gets to u and u mean no harm!

kisses

I'm hearing impaired, but will forgive you if you send me..... you know. ;-)

Thank you soo much for leaving me love on my artwork. Also, your blogs are freaking hilarious. I couldn't stop laughing at your post for today. I even read it to my boyfriend and he died laughing too.

Hey I have wore hearing aids myself (but do not anymore) I was a preemie also and I KNOW she can't help how she sounds... but it IS annoying. I can't lie about that.

Naturally I have a rather loud voice that carries. I can always close my office door, but then I fear that other colleagues will think I'm saying something about them. I could probably count on one hand how many times I closed my office door while on the phone.

oh Ick !!! Sometimes its infuriating to have to be understanding/make excuses for someone who annoys the heck out of you ! My empathy.

Dude! I so work with her sister!
