Loyalty is a good thing. I am loyal to my friends, family, always have been. Sometimes that has gotten me in trouble. In school I would never rat out my friends -EVER.
Some people in blogland get a large blogroll and alot of friends. I like my blogroll just the way it is. I visit those on it every week-day and most of them do the same. I am usually able to read the occasional week-end post as well.
I have cut a few toxic people from my blogroll and for that I am glad. Maybe a few got cut in the shuffle that really didn't deserve it, but I am equally sure that they don't care either.
Nothing was done directly to me, however a few bloggers had a meet-up back in April and were nasty to some other bloggers. Really showed a "mean girls" highschool mentality and I was very disappointed in that.
That sort of started changing how I felt about those bloggers then. Then I found out that another blogger whom would have you believe butter doesn't melt in her mouth is the complete and total opposite. Whew. Talk about surprise and shock. She was one of the "mean girls" so I thought "Well do I really want to have anything to do with someone like this?". This girl also treats her "friends" like disposable panti-liners. Sad. Her sidekick I always thought was the coolest and really wanted to meet IRL. Not so much anymore. She is merely Igor to Frankenstein in my way of thinking. Do I regret my online friendship with these girls? No, everything happens for a reason and maybe I learned some vaulable lessons in human behavior. Do I regret anything nice I might have said or did? Absolutely not. No good deed is ever wasted. Plus i've made a really terrific friend from the fall-out and she has also developed quite a friendhship with some other bloggers as a result. Good times!
We've got some craziness going on at the Crying Cow Bank today so let's just all pray I have a job at the end of the day/week mmmkay? *whistles* Trying not to think about it :)
Too Salty for my Own Good

Yuck. I never understand it when people get that "mean girl" thing going on. I'm not saying I'm perfect and of course I gossip (who doesn't?) but, I like to think that I'm not doing it to hurt someone. I dunno. I'm glad that you've turned it around and come out with a better friend in the end. :)
And this is also a reason why I enjoy my regular blog list being so small! I have enough drama with the people in everyday life...I don't need it in my blog-life too!
Now...go back to whistling while you work! Hoping that CCB realizes how much they would suck without you working there! *fingers crossed*
Ohhh Whistling reminds me of 2 things...one the Andy Griffith show (cause I am a southerner you know and that is religion) and two - GNR's song Patience....which sort of applies here too hmmm - I am on it this morning. Think its the triple Mint Condition I got from Carribou this morning? I am bouncing all over the damn place and rambling - like I am here LOL
And ummmm Loyalty - I gots ya back baby! You knows I loves ya!
Good luck with the work stuff.
Did I ever tell you my Mean Girls story? If not I will sometime.
Have a most wonderful day even with the crap going on.
Jenie- Thank you, I am FAR from perfect and yes I gossip and am a bitch from time to time but I have never done the type of stuff this crew has. Unreal.
Cheeky- I drive the MIL nuts with my whistling and I heart The Andy Griffith Show. You are just excited cos' your coming down South today! Girl I have/would never doubt you for a sec. You are true blue.
Katie- Thank you. No and I am all ears. I plan on having a fantabulous day!
I've lurked around at different places and seen people just gang up on someone else. Crappy. I think that sometimes people online are crappier than they would be IRL because they can hide behind their keyboard.
You will have a job at the end of the week! And if you don't, I could give you a referral to the bank that I work at! :)
SFG- I dunno but I wish Crying Cow would chill. Who needs this shit around the holidays? LOL
Chickie- You know you hit the nail on the head. I think people do that stuff because they can hide. Absolutely. Thank you honey!
patti, i once sent you an email so impressed was i with your loyalty. you will ALWAYS remain at the TOP of my blog friends list cause i must have commented on like 40 or 50 blogs before you came along and started leaving comments. the veteran bloggers basically ignored me.
toxic people should always be cut away. it's like pruning so the pretty flowers like us can grow.
i pray all goes well with ccb.
later gator.
:)
Oh my!! I'm really sorry that you've had to do a post such as this. I guess I'm still kinda in the dark with regards to "meanness" in BLOGLAND. That, or I've simply been blessed by the friendships I've made while on my blog journey.
Problem is though, I would be an easy target for "meanness", as I just put my life out there when I post. I mean, my life is what it is...and my writings shamelessly show that.
Anyway, I pray that the bloggers that you "keep in touch" with, are "true" to you and will continue to be. I can only speak for myself...I'll be nice to and for you :-).
Keep being you...you're REALLY good at it! :-D
Are you really sure you want to do this? Really?
Okay.
Back at ya, babe.
Love,
Igor
Amen to this post sister!!! We have someone now, with the mentality of a jr. high student, trying to bully us out of the life of one of our fav bloggers. She's rude and immature and is basicially just trying to piss all over our friend to mark her territory. It's the stupidest thing I've ever seen. Why are people freaks?
Ang
I'm so glad I was never one of the cool kids.
ICSCN- Thank you so much. I value and appreciate your friendship so much.
Dawn- You are truly blessed not to have encountered meanness and negativity in blogland. It's out there unfortunately.
Tammy- Just go away. There is nothing "on". I'm too old for this shit. Seriously.
Pack of 2- What is so disappointing is when you find out people you thought were awesome are freaks but better late than never.
Dixie- Me too. Who wants to be a cool kid? Too much trouble!
SFG- Laughter is good for the soul.
I'm kinda echoing what Dawn said. I began rather cautiously with what I said in the blog, but as time goes on, I've become pretty open. Luckily I haven't been caught up in something unpleasant. I tend to think that if I'm good, people won't be bad to me, and I make myself vulnerable. Well, knock on wood, no problems so far.
Sorry to hear about the craziness at work. I always hated that kind of undercurrent. I think that is why I finally left that scene and did private practice. I was fortunate that in my field I could do so. Hang in there and think good thoughts! I'll keep the fingers crossed for you! :)
I got your back Patti. I have a couple left over cans of whoop ass if you need them. :)
Hope things calm down at work. We have the state coming in tomorrow and Friday so everyone is stressing out. I can still use the "I'm new" phrase so I am not too worried. :)
Sending you lots of hugs today.
not sure what the drama is about....Life is way to short to live pi$$ed off at people. It doesn't get you anywehere, they you are just crabby all day.
So many sides to the same story. Luckily, everyone posted so we can compare.
Is it bad that my 'inner gossip' totally wants to know what the heck went down!!!!!!!
Based on what you said, sounds like you took the high road Patti, good for you.
I have been lucky so far not to have run into this! I'm sure I will see it soon enough - you can't possibly have more than 10 women gathered anywhere where something mean doesn't start happening - right? Have a good day.
Lynilu- Thanks honey. It'll be okay both the craziness in blogland and craziness at work!
Caroline- Thank you I know you got my back! Alway. Ditto. Good luck w/ state! It's like auditors coming here. Ack.
tommiea- Absolutely!
moi- Definitly many sides to every story.
Sandra- Try to do the right thing, really I do!
kellan- Sadly you are so very right. Glad you haven't encountered unpleasantness.
oh gosh, this does not sound good..
this is why I dont meet people..haha
sorry though, it sounds like a pretty crappy sitation.
FFM- It is, sucks to be them!
Not including personal reasons, I have had to look at a few people on my blogroll over the last couple of years and have peeled a few off because of some things I don't subscribe to.
To me loyalty is a big thing and back stabbers need to burn in hell.
Growing up I had to trust the friends that were watching my back to survive, you can't have someone back there helping to put you down.
In some ways though it's a good thing that this happens because you can clean out the garbage and keep a clean house for you and your real friends to visit and enjoy.
Good luck with the job . you have a terrific blog. I enjoy reading it..
I have tagged you to tell 7 random things about yourself. See my blog for the scoop. I hope you have a blessed week..
OH*WOW!!! How disappointing. It's not easy to find out when certain people aren't the people we thought they were.
I will keep my fingers crossed for you and the job.
Take Care Patti!!! My thoughts are WITH you!!!
Gee, I musta missed something. I'm so sorry you had to deal with mean people. But, I'm glad you have no regrets because yes ... SOMEWHERE in there, you will have learned something. Consider those people your practice people. Right? My blogroll is small ... out of pure and utter laziness to add! How bad is that?? I wish you well in whatever is going on, both here and at work. W
Patti,
I agree 1 million and 80 percent.
There is no excuse for mean-ness in blogland. If you don't like someone's blog or what they have to say, then stay off of their blog, and don't say anything critical behind their back on anyone else's blog, either.
I've had 2 trolls last year, and another 2 this year who lurk and post 'anonymously' and it is incredibly hard to say nothing, do nothing, and just delete their spiteful comments. Grrr.
I'm tempted to post their IP numbers and 'out' them, but it's more ladylike not to even give them any time or attention, and figure they have the problem, not me.
Toxic people - be gone !
Loyalty and decency matters.
Yuck...we have enough of that bickering and silliness and drama in the "real world." Why do they have to bring it into Blog Land?
I love blogging because we can kinda "pick and choose" who we want to hang out with. Know what I mean? I love it!
I've got my fingers crossed for you, but I don't think you'll need it.
First off - I sincerely hope your job is safe. That sounds stressful.
Secondly, I, too, have had the not so nice surprise of thinking I was friends with someone on-line/phone conversations (and thinking I knew them fairly well) only to have the rug pulled out from under me. It sucks and I'm sorry it happened to you.
(and I'm really glad I'm still on your blogroll! *laughing*)
Walker - Amen amen and amen. Well said my friend. I knew you would "get it".
Miss. Songbird- Thank you and i've added you to my blogroll. I will post the seven things tomorrow.
Daisy- Thank you! I know you've got my back honey!
Wendy- I learned a LOT of things.
Loving Annie- Yep sometimes it's hard to ignore but it's the best tactic.
Cheryl- Exactly! Pick who you want to visit and move along on those you don't! :)
Martini- Thanks you never know!
Casey- It is but i'll make it through. Yep is surely sucks when people disappoint you. You couldn't get rid of me woman ;)
Wow - good for you! It is so important to put your foot down and stand up for what you believe in. The blogs that I enjoy visiting are ones based on kindness, humor, compassion, and friendship. Looks like I will be adding yours - I am excited to visit again soon :)
What I don't understand is how come they're still READING? I mean, don't they have other people to bother and piss off or have they just effectively offended everyone and just have to go back through all the people they have pissed off before and do it all over again?
And April...never want to do it again in my life. Never. Wish you had been there to entertain me and Cheeky.
And not reading them nor caring what they think makes life a WHOLE lot easier.
Patti: Thanks for your visit regarding Sahara.I agree with you about Blogger. At least it's not as bad as Haloscan from what friends tell me.
...checking list...okay still on it...
Glad to not be part of THAT drama...who needs it!
